Common yards, the sound of water, celebrations and neighbor fellowships have been degraded for so long since our lives have turned to modern form.
In this project, looking at the past, we aimed to revive, fortify and modernize the influential and right features of the traditional architecture which had been faded during the time.
The yard, which was considered as the core of a house, is somewhat transformed into the inside of the building resulting in a dynamic connection between the interior and the exterior. In designing the interior of each house, we insisted on this notion and tried to retain this connection with the exterior by providing some inner yards in the levels. In fact, we tried to relinquish the customary restrictions in the building design.
For designing the facade, It’s been attempted to develop a unified facade that different units can’t be distinguished from each other while looking at it.
Privacy is not a restrict matter. We alleviated the public spaces’ privacy in order to let the neighbors communicate more easily, and at the same rate, we fortified it in the private spaces. Sarvestan has balconies which overlook the common yard. In order to provide the privacy, some thin cloth controllable curtains are devised, so they not only control the incoming light but also keep the balconies private.
The building, on the ground floor, looks at its ambient. We attempted to design the outer walls in a way that maximizes the visual connection with the environment. On the other hand, by growing plants on the yard walls, this connection was tried to be kept in order to avoid discontinuity caused by the rigid walls.
