About Us

khanebagh is an Iranian based architectural firm established in 2009 by architects Afshin Honarkhah and Soudeh Mohammadi and consists of a group of architects, designers and builders operating within the fields of architecture, interior design , urbanism and development.

Khanebagh’s Architecture emerges out of a careful study of Old Iranian architecture and the needs of contemporary life which require new ways of architectural and urban organization. We believe that in order to deal with today’s challenges, architecture can profitably move into a field that has been largely unexplored.

The studio’s key conceptual approach to this matter is the relation and dialogue between The Architectural Form and the nature, which the name of the company also reflects this concern as well; khane (the built form) and Bagh (the nature). This has been a turning point in Old Iranian architecture and in today’s architecture is missing and it needs to be reflected in a new way adopted with the contemporary life.
